- Foster relationships with key stakeholders within assigned client groups and provide consultative support on Human Resources processes, programs, and other business driven HR deliverables
- Advise management on the administration and appropriate application of HR policies, procedures, and standards as well as applicable legislation/regulations
- Act as an internal consultant by analyzing and recommending solutions to a variety of human resources and labour relations issues
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers/supervisors in resolving people issues and people management practices
- Act as an agent of change, enabling talent building, organizational effectiveness, ongoing development, and cultural transformation
- Work with management to develop, update and maintain job descriptions and participate in the job evaluation process
- Provide proactive support and guidance regarding corporate learning and development
- Participate and oversee leaves and return to work processes through WSIB and disability insurer
- Work closely with the Director, HR to implement the HR Strategy and in close cooperation with division/department management
- Develop business cases that include strong quantitative and qualitative analyses to support recommended initiatives or programs
- Demonstrate the values of teamwork through active engagement and participation in corporate events, workshops, and special functions
- Liaise with stakeholder groups and provide value-added expertise to support corporate priorities- University degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or related discipline. CHRP is an asset
- 7 years' experience in Human Resources in a unionized environment in a regulatory industry, utility, public sector, or not-for-profit setting. Collective bargaining experience is an asset
- Demonstrated business literacy and consulting skills with demonstrated ability to persuade/influence business leaders
- Superior knowledge of relevant provincial and federal legislation, acts and regulations as well as employee and labour relations trends and issues
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Teams
- Knowledge of contemporary human resources practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge and demonstrated ability in core competencies including communication, innovation, teamwork and collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and contribute to a collaborative work environment
