\Aged Care Podiatry OpportunityWhere you'll be working
As part of the Commonwealth Home Support Program, you will be working at Sutherland Hospital Podiatry Department. This team is located in the Allied Health department of the hospital and has great access to a wide range of multidisciplinary teams and community servicesWhat you'll be doingAs a Podiatrist in our service you will be providing general footcare to our High and Moderate risk patient cohort. You will have the support of the team of high risk foot clinicians and the opportunity to learn and upskill. You will have regular supervision and coaching as well as access to the CPD events as part of NSW Health.Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.SESLHD is committed to creating a workplace that reflects the diversity of our community.   • Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated core competency skills in diabetes, general podiatry assessment and management and foot care education.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters, commensurate with years of experience
  • Computer skills and the capacity to use health information systems
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and evidence based practice and a commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning
