Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Administration or related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in marketing and underwriting health and supplemental benefits insurance products. Equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English), ability to read, write, speak, and make presentations to groups in both language
  • Experience in Property and Casualty insurance preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry and competition common practices and concepts to understand and manage underwriting guidelines and marketing strategies.
  • Extensive knowledge of business lines and insurance products offered by EAIA.
  • Experience in sales and marketing of commercial insurance accounts, both local and multinational, and in negotiation through brokers.
  • Proficient in computer systems and keyboard management, including intermediate knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Analytical skills, case evaluation, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to handle high work volumes and meet established deadlines. Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while setting priorities.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service, conflict resolution. and public handling.
  • Proactivity, and empowerment in work situations.
  • Authorized Person designation issued by the Insurance Commissioner's Office of PR under the EAIA license as Authorized Representative under the Life and Disability lines
  • Driver's License required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and document weekly client and producer visit agendas for account servicing and sales management.
  • Support external sales force (brokers, producers, consultants) in developing business relationships with both existing and potential clients, including promoting all company and group products, and identifying needs for materials, brochures, promotions, and technology at sales points.
  • Negotiate proposals and account renewals.
  • Regularly report on promotional, sales, and marketing efforts in group and individual insurance to supervisor.
  • Coordinate with the Underwriting department for business requests, proposals, quotes, renewals, and related management to achieve sales targets, budget, and business retention.
  • Implement new account plans and renewals with internal departments such as Underwriting, Operations, and Finance to ensure negotiated service and administration requirements are met.
  • Assist and coordinate activities such as Conventions, Fairs, and sales events.
  • Promote company products and support producers by providing training, guidance, and informational materials at sales points as needed.
  • Support the entire process of managing and ensuring clients submit required forms on time in compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
  • Prepare and present renewal results to clients within established deadlines.
  • Review contracts, quotes, and other documents for accuracy and timely delivery to producers and clients.
  • Develop and promote cross-selling products with producers and clients.
  • Prepare periodic reports on production and area activity.
  • Conduct regular meetings with each client to address pending issues and clarify account-related queries.
  • Develop new business with prospects and existing clients by offering additional coverage products.
  • Act as a liaison between each client and benefit providers for all account-related matters, investigating any claim or related situation and providing immediate resolution.
  • Provide client orientations and services such as handling reimbursements, study statuses, cover certifications, duplicate cards, among other related services.
  • Periodically analyze client health and wellness programs and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate the implementation of client coverages according to established processes.
  • Manage and handle the renewal process of existing plans.
  • Ensure all results meet client requirements, costs, and timelines.
  • Ensure effective control of documentation worked in the area on all cases.
  • Establish and consistently maintain effective and positive working relationships with clients and prospects.
  • Evaluate and analyze client metrics to identify trends and opportunities, making recommendations to senior management to implement beneficial initiatives.
  • Participate in special tasks and/or projects as needed.
