Job Title: Youth Project Coordinator
Department: Youth and Employability
Reports to: Senior Manager - Youth and Employability
Responsible for: Part time Youth Workers and sessional staff.
Contract: 12 months FTC
Working Pattern: Full Time (Part Time will be considered)

The Youth and Employability Department
The Youth and Employability department provides informal learning and engagement opportunities for young people to build and develop essential life skills to support their transition to adulthood, engagement in their local community and employability skills for the world of work.We believe in high-quality provision which makes a difference to young people’s lives; we offer a variety of personal, social and educational opportunities for young people to engage with, in both group and 1:1 sessions. Our work includes: residentials, weekly groups, short courses/projects, PSHE style activity, holiday programmes, training opportunities, volunteering & social action, work ready programmes and industry days.We work closely with key stakeholders such as schools, charities, local authorities, and national services to both gain access to young people as well as give young people different networks, opportunities, and experiences.Main Purpose of JobThe Youth Project Coordinator will set up, design, and deliver high-quality, innovative and engaging youth programmes for young people in the Hounslow borough and neighbouring areas. Including youth-led projects, holiday programmes, trainings, weekly groups and school activities.The Youth Project Coordinator will lead, develop, and champion the youth voice at the Trust. Through building strong and trusting relationships with young people and ensuring young people are represented from all areas of the Trust and the boroughs that we work in.The Youth Project Coordinator will work with schools, local community groups, charities, and the local authority to ensure young people are able to access the provision and to enhance opportunities available for young people.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities
  • Set up, plan and deliver high quality projects/sessions which include; reflective learning, personal and social development outcomes and youth voice. Ensure all activities and sessions are adaptable to include and meet the needs of all young people.
  • Coordinate, lead and inspire young people through all youth projects and youth voice activities to enable them to reach their potential. Including but not limited to; PSHE sessions, youth clubs, specialist projects etc.
  • Engage and build positive, trusted relationships with young people, particularly those who are vulnerable and in targeted localities, provide effective support on a one-to-one & group basis, using coaching and mentoring techniques when needed. Support young people with challenging behaviour to integrate and thrive.
  • Develop and implement a stakeholder engagement strategy to work and build positive working relationships with key partners including local schools, local authority, charity partners, and local organisations to support the development and delivery of youth programmes. Liaise with schools and colleges to design and deliver bespoke school youth activities and programmes.
  • Attend local network meetings/ steering groups to understand the needs of the local community and young people. Support young people to work successfully with the local community groups and organisations.
  • Promote, coordinate and lead the Brentford FC CST’s Youth Voice Group. Develop further opportunities for young people to engage and develop active membership withing the group.
  • Plan and deliver effective training and development opportunities to support youth volunteering and leadership. Accredit training and development opportunities where possible.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on areas of work including writing reports and case studies
  • Ensure project administration and logistics are completed accurately and within allocated time scales including safeguarding reporting, risk assessments, session guidance documents, external bookings etc. Ensure the CRM systems are maintained and kept up to date with all programme, young people and staff information.
  • Manage part time youth workers and sessional staff to support programme delivery. Lead briefing, debriefing, staff meetings and trainings. Support the Senior Manager in recruitment, training, and supervision of new staff.
  • Manage and take the lead on incidents on the ground, ensuring correct incident reporting processes are followed. Be the first point of contact for safeguarding and health and safety on the ground.
  • To achieve weekly and monthly targets as set out by the Senior Manager. Complete compulsory training to enable all duties to be carried out effectively.
  • Attend regular supervision, team & organisation meetings reporting key performance achievements or areas for improvement.
  • To understand and comply with the safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion and health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Deputise for the Senior Manager when appropriate.
  • Work with other BFCCST staff to develop youth voice, programmes, and volunteer activity across other BFCCST projects.
  • Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities considered appropriate by the Senior Manager.
  • Work flexible hours including regular evenings and weekends when require.
  • Handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality, especially regarding individuals' personal details and concerns.
  • Stay informed about safeguarding policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Actively seek opportunities to enhance safeguarding measures and contribute to the continuous improvement of safety protocols.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and implement relevant updates.
Essential Criteria
  • Knowledge and understanding of personal, social, and educational youth work topics and ability to deliver high quality sessions.
  • Ability to lead and work independently as well as and working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to build a positive rapport, show empathy and relate well to young people from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Ability to communicate and engage with young people and their parents/guardians sensitively and confidently in both large groups and individual settings.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment, responsive to changing situations.
  • Good knowledge of and a commitment to Safeguarding, Health and Safety and Equality Diversity and Inclusion in relations to working in the community and youth work environment.
  • A willingness to regularly travel within the allocated work areas.
  • A willingness to work flexible hours as this role will involve evenings and some weekend commitments.
Desirable:
  • Good knowledge of the local area and demographics (Hounslow and neighbouring boroughs)
  • Alternative professional qualifications directly related to working with young people and children in a formal or non-formal setting
  • Ability to adapt curriculum sessions to support young people with additional support needs
  • A full driving license and access to own car.
