OverviewABOUT THE POSITIONVHB’s Albany, NY office is looking for an Entry Level Transportation/Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation team. The selected candidate will work with a dynamic team of transportation planners and engineers on a variety of public, private, and institutional projects with exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope. Our team uses its skills and experience to improve our communities with a sustainable, context-driven and integrated project delivery approach.   • Working within a team of professionals in a variety of transportation planning and traffic engineering projects working to develop mobility solutions for all users
  • Conduct multi-modal related transportation analyses
  • Conduct safety assessments
  • Perform field observations and site visits
  • Prepare transportation impact, corridor, and intersection evaluations using a variety of tools
  • Design of traffic control devices
Skills and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in transportation engineering & planning required
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently as well as on a team
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated and committed
  • Critical thinking and problem solving approach
Qualifications
  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 0-1 years of civil / transportation engineering / planning experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Synchro, ArcGIS preferred
  • Experience with VISSIM a plus
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Albany, NY is $66,000-$69,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.We are VHB!
