As a Health and Safety Advisor, you'll have the opportunity to work for nine days each fortnight, levering your expertise to shaping a safer future for the Loy Yang’s workforce and community.As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will:

Provide specialist advice and support to enhance awareness and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with organizational and legislative requirements.
Actively engage, motivate, and influence employees and leaders to fulfill legal obligations and meet safety expectations, fostering a positive safety culture.
Develop and distribute communications to educate the workforce on safety issues, requirements, and expectations, promoting a proactive approach to safety.
Contribute to the development, review, and updating of policies and procedures to ensure compliance and relevance, incorporating legislative requirements.
Participate in health and safety projects and activities, support the delivery of initiatives, and escalate safety issues as necessary to drive improvements.

To succeed, you will need:

Minimum 5 years of industrial experience, preferably in the power industry.
Tertiary qualifications in WHS Management, minimum Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety.
Demonstrated experience in promoting and leading a positive safety culture, including behavioural safety programs and assurance activities.
Proficiency in systems and programs such as reporting, leading KPIs, health surveillance program management, and competency assurance.
Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and adapt to varying situations.
