Education Qualification: B.E/B.Tech (Metallurgical Engineering) Experience Required: 8 - 12 years Job Overview The Ladle Refining Shift charge is responsible for overseeing and managing the ladle refining operations within the Steel Melting Shop. This role requires extensive knowledge of steelmaking processes, particularly in the area of ladle refining, to ensure the production of high-quality steel that meets customer specifications. Key Responsibilities Supervision of Ladle Refining Operations: Directly oversee the ladle refining process, including monitoring ladle preparation, refining parameters, and ladle treatment practices to achieve desired steel quality. Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and optimize ladle refining processes to improve steel quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency. Implement best practices and technological advancements to enhance productivity and performance. Quality Control: Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications throughout the ladle refining process. Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to identify any deviations or defects and take corrective actions as necessary. Safety Compliance: Enforce strict safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel involved in ladle refining operations. Conduct safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety awareness among team members. Team Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of ladle operators, technicians, and support staff. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure the team operates effectively and efficiently. Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure timely maintenance and repair of ladle refining equipment and machinery. Schedule preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of ladle refining activities, including process parameters, production data, quality test results, and inventory levels. Generate shift reports and performance metrics to track productivity and identify areas for improvement. Must Have Skills Previous experience in steelmaking operations, with a focus on ladle refining processes. Strong understanding of metallurgical principles and steel chemistry.
