Overview As an admission counselor, you will play a crucial role in the recruitment and selection process of prospective students. Your responsibilities will involve guiding and counseling students and their families through the admission process, representing the institution at various events, and evaluating applications to make informed admission decisions. Key Responsibilities Guide and advise prospective students and their families through the admissions process Represent the institution at college fairs, high school visits, and other recruitment events Evaluate and review applications for admission Conduct interviews with prospective students Provide information on academic programs, admission requirements, and financial aid options Assist with the development and implementation of recruitment strategies Collaborate with other departments to coordinate recruitment efforts Participate in training sessions and professional development activities Utilize CRM systems to track and maintain communication with prospective students Contribute to the achievement of enrollment targets Prepare and deliver presentations to various groups Maintain up-to-date knowledge of educational trends and best practices in admissions Participate in admission events and activities on and off campus Develop and maintain relationships with high school and community college counselors Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field Previous experience in admissions, counseling, or related field Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and time management skills Knowledge of higher education policies and procedures Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software Understanding of student recruitment and retention strategies Ability to travel and work flexible hours as needed Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices in admissions Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and initiatives Familiarity with college admissions testing and requirements Skills: communication,organization,teamwork,academic advising
