Mission Solutions (Nuclear & Civil) Fluor is foreseeing an increase in workload in a number of different business sectors including: Energy transition projects including in battery materials, hydrogen and carbon capture Life Sciences & Advanced Manufacturing including in data centres and low carbon technologies Traditional Oil & Gas projects in upstream, downstream (refinery and petrochemicals) and LNG The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and perform the work listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor's competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position supports the Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects and in some cases will involve the applicant leading small teams of engineers and designers, responsible for applying Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline engineering work, in addition to: Develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects. Participating in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting Performing and checking calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of moderate or complex engineering problems Develop and review estimates and schedules, progress reports, including manpower forecasts Establish, track, and monitor material key quantities provide analysis and forecasts Develop and review specifications, including design criteria Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors in design Develop and update job execution plans Develop and build external relations with client representatives, vendors, and subcontractors and interface closely with other discipline functions promoting Client Service Excellence Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting Review and approve vendor lists, prepare quotation requests/bid tabulations/purchase orders and review substitutions for technical acceptability Assign work to teams, monitor and manage the work Basic Job Requirements Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors. Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job, e.g. Specified, designed, reviewed, approved and performed FATs for a wide range of Electrical Equipment including: - HV, MV and LV Switchgear, MCCs - Transformers - Motors and VSDs - Generators - UPSs - Lighting Construction site experience in a field engineer capacity Capability in power systems analysis, experienced in the use of analysis software such as ETAP Perform complex system studies (e.g., short circuit, load flow, stability, motor starting, harmonics, relay coordination and ground grid) Develop area classifications and design documents Develop electrical design documents Perform electrical calculations such as short circuit, relay coordination, voltage drop, cable derating and cable pulling tension Prepare motor schematics and wiring diagrams Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner Preferred Qualifications Accredited degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study Proven experience of working in the electrical engineering discipline across a variety of industries Energy and Chemicals, ATLS, Pharmaceutical, Renewables. Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership. Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials. Practical field experience. Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs. Capability in power systems analysis, experienced in the use of analysis software such as ETAP.
